There have always been individual views on what education leads to society and whether an education is necessary to get society to outlive.

Education is the foundation of modern contemporary society. It is the car we use to pass along the knowledge and culture to our future years. In order for us to better appreciate our educational system; we have to exam this from multiple perspectives instead of looking at it one-sided. These types of perspectives would be the functionalist, turmoil, and interactionism perspectives. We all will explore the differences and similarities in the functionalist, conflict, and interactionism theories of education as well as their impact on individual opinions, approach to social change, and views of society within education. The functionalist theory focuses on ways education caters and plays a part in the demands of culture. Functionalists initially see education as a means of conveying fundamental knowledge and skills to another generation. Coming from a functionalist perspective, education is a great interrelated yet independent element that rewards society overall. Education picks and prepares individuals for future tasks in world. Talcott Parsons say that this benefits the as well as culture. Education delivers value consensus and cultural solidarity which is certainly great in helping contemporary society to function. Functionally speaking, education serves as a venue to transmit tradition and expertise. " Schools supplement the family by simply passing on youngsters' significant elements of their culture, (Sullivan, T. M., 2007). ” Functionalists see education as a tool that equips people who have the proper skills necessary to function in culture and that helps bring about success within their lives. Education does not just pave the way for alter and innovation but it also determines a online social network for the young. Of equal importance to moving on expertise is the socialization of the individual. (Charon, 2007) lets us know that socialization is the technique that our cultural institutions " teach people the ways of society and, in so doing, contact form their basic qualities. ” He goes on to say that because people learn through socialization, they internalize those ways. ” In the world as we know that, we believe that the more things change, the more they will stay the same. The need for advanced technical knowledge advances and by itself with it the progress of technology and innovative developments. This takes place both academically and personally. Social development occurs both academically and socially with all the exploration of self. Functionalists argue that this process takes part in establishing the equilibrium in society and is also a part of what keeps it in a secure state. These kinds of processes will be •Differentiation – refers to the increase in complexness of cultural organizations. •Adaptive upgrading – whereby interpersonal institutions become more specialized in all their processes. •Inclusion – this occurs in which groups previously excluded from society as a result of such factors as contest, gender, cultural class and so forth are now approved. •Value Generalization – this is the development of fresh values that tolerate and legitimate a greater selection of activities. Issue theorists did not view education the same way that functionalists did. They looked at education being a tool that those with electrical power used to perpetuate the current sociable status quo.
