Via an traditional perspective, David Leans' film, Lawrence of Arabia was flawed with inaccuracies of both character types (especially Lawrence) and events, but it was truly an epic film that is rightly seen as a classic.
The crumbling Ottoman Empire from the 19th 100 years was place under pressure by expanding imperial powers of Britain, France and Germany, every single wanting territory in the Middle East. For example , Britain's interest in the land was for olive oil, the Suez Canal and it is land paths and the shielding of the sea routes to India.
From the films adaptation, Lawrence, a " Jut jawed, deceitful man”, standing at 5ft, 4in against Peter O'toole at 6ft, 2in was obviously a committed Arabist who had been operating as a great archaeologist for a number of summers at the center East throughout the influence of his coach, David George Hogarth who was the keeper of the Ashmolean Museum.
